At Alpheus (a wholly owned part of the Anglian Water Group) we offer commercial and industrial customers a comprehensive range of specialist water & wastewater asset management services and process solutions, tailored to meet their needs.


Reporting to the Southern Operations & Maintenance Manager you are responsible for the successful delivery of operational tasks associated with the management of a large wastewater treatment facility on a prestigious customer site.

Your role will support the achievement of regulatory, financial, environmental and customer performance targets associated with the contract.


The key purpose of this role is to:

  • Ensure the plant is fully monitored and controlled. Proactively owing and completing routine operations, sampling, cleaning, proactive data trending, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Work in a safe efficient manner at all times.
  • Working within a small onsite team and with the wider Alpheus technical and management teams to help produce daily and monthly reports as required.
  • One of your key objectives will be to build excellent customer relationships, ensuring excellent value and benefit is delivered to our client
  • Work closely with your team colleagues and our technical and management teams, sharing responsibility for the continued development and optimisation of the facility
  • Work closely with the customer's mechanical and electrical team, and other contractors, to ensure the plant is well maintained and available at all times

What does it take to be a Plant Operator?

  • Excellent wastewater treatment knowledge
  • Excellent H&S knowledge
  • Good computer literacy skills to record process data, generate site reports, and monitor SCADA systems
  • Good knowledge of key aspects of environmental legislation.
  • DAF and membrane knowledge and experience would be an advantage
