Electricity North West has an exciting opportunity for someone with groundwork experience seeking a new job in Stockport.

We're looking for a Substation Ground Operative to join our inclusive team and start and finish from home with a company van and route.

This full-time Groundworker role comes with a salary of up to £28,643 per year plus excellent benefits.


In this Substation Ground Operative role, you will deliver high-standard, time effective and cost-effective Grounds Maintenance work on ENW assets to ensure all sites are kept in a safe, tidy and operational condition at all times.

The role will see you start and finish from home with a company van and route, allowing you to plan your own working day.

Whilst you will be working as part of a great team, this role is predominantly lone working.

To give you an idea of how this Substation Ground Operative role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers
  • Carry out onsite risk assessments of working area
  • Plan your own working day to ensure work is done efficiently
  • Report/Submit near misses to support the company's proactive health and safety culture
  • Promote the accurate and timely provision of management information to drive continuous improvement
  • Experience and the will to undertake any training required with regard to any powered tools/machinery needed to undertake the role
  • The ability to carry out onsite risk assessments of working area (POWRA)


You'll receive an excellent starting salary of £24,231.36 rising to £28,643.52 withing 2 years and a benefits package for your knowledge, expertise and flexibility.
