Technical Scheme Lead - Meat Processing

Description

We have an exciting opportunity here at NSF to join our Processing team as an Technical Scheme Lead.

This is a home-based role, with a requirement to visit our UK Head Office in Oxfordshire on occasions.


Principal accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide scheme owners, colleagues (including auditors) and scheme members with technical expertise and advice
  • Manage the training of auditors ensuring they fully comply with scheme owner and NSF requirements at all times
  • Design and deliver auditor communication and training days
  • Monitor auditor performance including auditor witnessing, audit report review data and nonconformance analysis. Where auditors are not meeting the required standards take action in order to protect the reputation of NSF
  • Ensure we have sufficient trained and competent auditors to deliver scheme requirements seek out new ones where required
  • Regularly "check in" with key customers e.g. Integrators, to ensure delivering bestinclass service
  • Work with key customers to establish what reporting management information they require and work with colleagues to deliver them
  • Manage any complaints / exposes in a manner that protects any NSF reputational risks
  • Deliver the contract plan for the area circulating meeting notes with actions from the meeting
  • Represent NSF at shows/ events relevant to the area of expertise when requested
  • Seek out new business/growth opportunities
  • Undertake any departmental projects allocated
  • Support colleagues working on standards when required

Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience in the meat processing industry with excellent knowledge of good meat supply chain practices and the key reputational risk areas for the area, including issues that are on consumers' minds
  • Brand reputational / issue management skills the ability to look quickly at facts and identify the next steps required to protect the reputation of the brand
  • Active listening able to listen to what customers want and transfer them into service delivery
  • Influencing skills, taking internal and external stakeholders with us
  • Ability to make difficult decisions, approaching them in a fair and logical way
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Problemsolving skills, establishing root causes and what actions are required to prevent recurring issues
