The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provisions in Nailsworth, Stourbridge, Sheffield, Birmingham, Pembrokeshire as well as an associated site in Darlington and three independent specialist schools in Sheffield, Bristol and Clent.

We provide innovative and experiential education for children and young people with special learning needs, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.

Biodynamic Gardener

16 hours per week - National Minimum Wage

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Trigonos team, based in Nantlle, Gwynedd. We are looking for additional member of our Biodynamic Land Team for an immediate start.

Tasks include;

  • To carry out gardening and land work using biodynamic principles' (training will be given)
  • To maintain the Trigonos Garden considering aesthetics in line with biodynamics and Trigonos environment
  • To carry out land work on paths, gardens, hedges
  • To support the production of produce in both polytunnels and fields
  • To support the selling of Trigonos produce by attending the local market (occasional Saturdays on a Rota basis)
  • Occasional weekend work will be required to take care of animals in the event of other team members being unavailable
  • Willingness to engage in training to increase knowledge in Biodynamic Agriculture training will be provided
  • Will be required to use landbased machinery such as Brush Cutter training will be provided.
Trigonos has a successful history of providing warmth and high quality hospitality for a range of activities and courses. The 20 bedroom facility includes meeting rooms, workshop spaces and beautiful grounds.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Team to ensure that all guests continue to receive high quality services, and that Trigonos business remains aligned to the vision and values of Trigonos and Ruskin Mill Trust.

As Trigonos is part of Ruskin Mill Trust, the successful applicant will also be expected to embrace, articulate and work with the Trust's objectives, vision, values and purpose

What we are looking for team member who are/have;

  • Experience of working in a similar horticultural or land based role
  • Experience of working in a similar, physically demanding and outdoor role
  • Qualification in Biodynamic agriculture is highly desirable
  • A willingness to engage in training to increase knowledge in biodynamic agriculture and ecology is essential training will be provided
