- Hands-on experience in deploying applications and/or data services to the cloud using a CI/CD approach, ideally with a background in containerised micro-service delivery
- Proven expertise in agile software development within Azure
- Competence in designing and developing APIs for data such as search APIs and feed APIs
- Skill in creating presentation layers for data-rich applications
- Familiarity with developing using Azure storage services, particularly Azure SQL Server

The Opportunity
We're on the lookout for a skilled data engineer to join our Open Data team at the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS). As a data engineer, your mission will be to play a vital role in developing and supporting the fresh open data platform. This exciting position will involve crafting the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data pipeline framework to seamlessly integrate upstream master data sources from parliamentary business systems into the Open Data Platform. Additionally, you'll be responsible for crafting new iterations of various key data services, including web-client applications and data APIs. The Open Data team holds responsibility for defining and executing Parliament's open data strategy and its open data resources and services, with the primary service being the open data platform.
We collaborate with various teams throughout PDS and Parliament to comprehend their data, structure it, and deliver the data and associated services.
