Role Summary:


London Marathon Events organises the TCS London Marathon, Ford RideLondon (the worlds greatest festival of cycling), The Big Half, Vitality Westminster Mile, Vitality London 10,000, the Standard Chartered Great City Race and Swim Serpentine.


Our seven event websites are the voice of truth for all our participants, spectators, charity partners, sponsors, stakeholders and our staff.

Our new London Marathon Events website will go live in Q3 this year.


We are looking for an experienced and creative website editor to plan and manage all content words, images, video and animations - on our websites.


Each of our events has a unique life cycle and we want to deliver engaging, inspiring and timely messaging and content for all our different audiences throughout the year in line with the London Marathon Group value of
_Customer First together we go the extra mile_.

This is an exciting role for a dynamic and forward-thinking website content editor.


Responsibilities:


  • Leading on planning, website content calendar production, managing and publishing all content on our event websites
  • Working with the marketing, social media, comms and content teams to ensure integrated delivery of inspiring, engaging and timely content across all channels.
  • Working closely with the Website Product Manager on the development and delivery of additional functionality and refinements
  • Liaising with departments across LME to ensure information is accurate and timely.
  • Particular focus on the participant journey for all events and supporting every participant from the sofa to the finish line.
  • Using analytics to inform and develop new content strategies to deliver best in class user experience for all audiences.
  • Optimise existing and new content for search engines (SEO)
  • Contributing ideas for content planning with the wider Marketing and Communications team
  • Close liaison with the Customer Services team
  • Commissioning content from freelancers and third parties as required
  • Planning and delivering the content for the new London Marathon Events website
  • Ensuring all content adheres to the LME Style Guide
  • Working in the content team providing live digital coverage of our worldclass events

Performance Measures

  • Delivery of timely and inspiring website content, monitored through analytics
  • Effective support of marketing for LME events
  • Reduced inbounds to Customer Services
  • Innovative support for event sponsors
    Required Skills
  • Proven experience managing websites via a content management system
  • Ability to craft compelling copy for our different audiences
  • Creative ideas about use of different forms of content
  • Ability to plan and deliver multiple workstreams
  • Collaborative team player who is able to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
  • An understanding of SEO principles and best practices
