About the role
This is an exciting new role at the heart of HL's multi-year Transformation journey and sits within the newly formed Corporate Transformation Office (TO).
The Portfolio Planning and Assurance Lead will design, build and embed the Enterprise-level approach to Transformation prioritisation, ensuring that costs are within budget, OKR's are defined, and that plans deliver the business commitments.
The incumbent will work closely with the Head of Transformation Delivery, will deputise when necessary and support the design and implementation of the Transformation Office operating rhythm.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for designing and coordinating the strategic annual planning cycle and quarterly replans
- Responsible for continuously 'balancing the plan', ensuring the Transformation Roadmap is on track to deliver its commitments and identifying critical risks early
- Responsible for managing the crossPortfolio Planning Forum and all associated outputs including submissions to the Investment Committee
- Act as a key interface to the senior leadership team, building strong relationships with Enterprise wide functions
- Act as necessary support for the Head of Transformation Delivery to:
- Run regular engagement with Portfolio Leads
- Coordinate the TO operating rhythm
- Rigour test OKR's and roadmaps ahead of mobilisation
- Assure delivery once approved and track committed outcomes
- Provide recommendations for Business Transformation continuous improvement
About you
- Thrives in entrepreneurial, fast moving and often ambiguous environments
- Expert in designing and leading Strategic Planning cycles in highly regulated industries
- Ability to facilitate Exec level strategy conversations, identify business priorities and drive decisions based on costs, benefits and delivery risk
- Demonstrable evidence of planning and assuring complex, digitally enabled, highly dependent change portfolios in excess of £100m
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at 'C' level
- Highly experienced in delivering within Product led / Agile environments
- Expert in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery methodologies
- High level of numeracy and understanding of £100M+ P&L's
Interview process
This will be a 2 stage process which will include Technical and competency interview as well as a presentation.

We are looking for a Portfolio Planning & Assurance Lead to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL.
