Plant Fitter (Workshop based)

Edinburgh

£30,000 - £33,000 D.O.E Overtime available

My client are a UK leading plant hire company with over 50 years' experience offering a range of plant, tools and facilities to a number of customers nationwide.

As a successful business they have been able to develop their family-run business and gain a reputable name within the industry with products and services that cater to all.

Job Role of Plant Fitter

As a Plant Fitter your responsibilities will include the following:

Repairing/overhauling and maintaining plant & tools and ensuring that customer breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manner and machines are serviced to meet hire commitment time frames
Obtaining/requesting all parts to carry out repairs
Salvaging usable parts from machines
Carrying out small tasks of welding, painting and electrical work
Adhere to all health and safety, environmental and quality processes, ensuring compliance at all times

Requirements needed to be considered for position:

Experience within a relevant engineering sector such as; heavy plant, forklifts, agricultural, powered access and/or automotive
NVQ Level 2/3 qualified in relevant engineering
Experience working with engines; diesel, gas and/or petrol
Experience working with hydraulics and basic electrics
