Are you versatile and hands on with in depth plastics processing knowledge and seeking an exciting NEW opportunity? Look no further We are currently hiring a Tooling Maintenance Assistant to join our Toolroom in St Asaph.

This is a brand new position assisting with technical support for our injection moulding and extrusion tooling.

This could be an ideal development opportunity for someone looking to expand their knowledge and skills and keen to deliver on continuous improvement in this area.


The focus of this role is to ensure a timely and efficient tooling TPM & Maintenance of all site tooling in order to maintain efficient production to fulfil our customer orders.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reception & storing of incoming tooling & equipment.
  • Maintenance, cleaning of all extrusion tooling at end of production runs, returning tooling to the level required to ensure efficient start up and production run quality.
  • Initiate and carry out a planned maintenance schedule for top 100 tools in both moulding and extrusion.
  • Maintain tool maintenance & repair records.
  • Conduct & manage moulding cavity change overs and change over part storage
  • Using some toolroom machinery and equipment to repair tooling
  • Storage and handling of all tooling, keeping an upto date tooling database
  • Organise & Implement tooling distribution to our other locations on a weekly basis (includes forklift truck activity)
  • Work in conjunction with Extrusion / moulding supervisors to support the tooling improvement process including attending meetings and implementing follow up actions

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A mechanically minded individual with demonstrable experience using hand tools
  • Experience of, lathes and grinding would be beneficial (training could be provided upon review)
  • Able to display initiative and demonstrate a proactive, cando attitude.
  • Demonstrable handson process problem solving / logical approach with imagination to generate ideas for continuous improvement
  • Good communication skills and the ability to keep accurate records.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Excel would be an advantage

HOURS
You will be employed to work 40 hours per week. The hours of work would be Mon

  • Fri. There will be a 30 minute unpaid break each day. A flexible approach to working alternative or additional hours when required is preferred.
