Job description

  • The Head of Culture and Engagement will deliver impactful communications, culture campaigns and strategies to increase engagement and promote a great culture here at RCPCH.
  • You will report to the Executive Director of People and Culture and work closely with the HR Business Partner and the Learning and Development Business Partner to lead on initiatives to highlight RCPCH's employer brand and attract and retain the best talent we can find.
  • Internal communications, culture and engagement plays a key role in the People and Culture Division team at RCPCH and you will be required to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver authentic internal communication and direct delivery engagement activities to colleagues across the organisation.
  • We are circa 190 colleagues, with an office in London, and other staff working remotely across locations nationally.
    Responsibilities
  • 1. Defining, implement and maintain the College's Culture and Values across the organisation and effectively communicate and mentor employees on the College's values and principles
  • 2. Together with the Digital Division and the Internal Communications and Engagement Officer build state of the art internal communications tools to keep teams sharing information and staying productive
  • 3. Promote a positive and supportive work environment and organisational culture by developing and evolving programs and initiatives to support the College's mission
  • 4.
Manage employee survey touch points at several key moments in the employee lifecycle (including:
onboarding survey, exit survey, engagement survey etc.) ensuring that we gather insights at the moments that matter the most

  • 5. Analyse employee data to identify trends and opportunities to improve employee experience and culture.
  • 6. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to systematically build our processes and procedures around employee satisfaction improvement
  • 7. Partner with the Senior Leadership Team, HR Business Partner and Learning and Development Business Partner to develop and implement employee engagement surveys and action plans
  • 8. Create and deliver internal campaigns that will align colleagues to our key strategies and programs
  • 9. Develop and deliver initiatives and direct delivery programs with RCPCH staff related to employee experience, culture, engagement and DE&I on a broad geographical scope
  • 10. Be an advocate for a datadriven culture across the People and Culture function
    Essential skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) across different personality types and departments
  • Trackable experience of a collaborative approach to scaling company culture in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrable emotional intelligence and ability to handle complex, social dynamics among ambitious employees
  • Ability to see the 'big picture' of how people and culture fit into the College's overall strategy and goals
  • Direct experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or employee engagement/experience/culturebuilding roles
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and culture
  • Ability to deploy a mixed methods (surveys, 1:1 meetings, focus groups, workshops, appreciative enquiries) consultative approach in identifying and understanding areas for improvement, while only accommodating external suggestions if useful, and aligned to the overall business strategy and priorities
  • Highlevel proficiency in problemsolving, critical thinking and analysing complex situations
