Youth Engagement Worker — (Sessional and part time roles available)

Location:
Brentford Community Stadium Hub Venues in and around Hounslow, and neighbouring boroughs.

Reporting to:
Senior Coordinator/ Senior Youth Worker

Role Type:
Mentor/ facilitator / leader

Salary:
£12 - £14 hourly depending on experience

Dates / Times:
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends if and when required.

The Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park [as a sports hub], and its move to new, larger, purposebuilt premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17,500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.

The Employability and Enrichment Department


The Employability and Enrichment department provides informal learning and engagement opportunities for young people to build and develop essential life skills to support their transition to adulthood, engagement in their local community and employability skills for the world of work.

Purpose of the role

The Youth Worker role is to create a positive, safe, educational, and memorable experiences for a young people aged 13-17 years old.

Youth Workers will support the Senior Coordinators to lead, inspire and support young people to develop personal, social and educational skills through creative activities.

Youth Workers will deliver youth sessions and projects within the local community and schools


Sessions and projects include:
Life Skills, Girls Group, Young Leaders, Employability, Holiday programmes and detached work.

Youth Workers ill also include working alongside other local community groups to collaborate for the benefit of the local community and its young people.

Youth Workers will need to be innovative and think outside the box.

They will play a supportive role in pastoral care, working with individual young people where needed, delivering inclusive curriculum sessions, and skill development.


Main Responsibilities
Inspire, motivate, and support young people through positive and creative sessions and activities. Ensure that the pastoral care, and safety needs of the young people are always met.


  • Deliver centre based, community and school activities and sessions, involving young people in the planning and delivery of activities on offer, ensure they are innovative and effective.
  • Engage and build positive relationships with young people to provide effective support, mentoring on a one-to-one basis where needed. Use detached and outreach methods to engage new young people.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinators to ensure a united approach to delivering sessions and supporting the team.
