Description

Import & Export Specialist required for a 12-month contract, to join a Bristol-based organisation. Hybrid/remote role, salary in the region of £35-£38K p/a + benefits.

The Import / Export specialist manages all customs, trade compliance, import and export to ensure internal processes & procedures match internal policies and regulatory legislation

What you will do:

Ensure import & export compliance processes are followed in line with internal policies
Audit import & export entries to identify and eliminate discrepancies and issues
Complete PDD (Plastic Declaration Document) for inbound shipments
Work with Freight Forwarders regarding customs queries
Proactively prevent trade disruptions
Manage the shipping authorisation process
Support, as required, educating internal and external stakeholders on customs regulation requirements
Ensure correct customs legislation i.e., tariff classification, country of origin etc.
Collaborate with HRMC, trading standards and other external regulatory bodies

Who we are looking for:

Possess extensive knowledge of customs compliance including tariffs, imports and exports
Proven history of managing imports and exports shipping documents
Good understanding of Logistics and the end to end supply chain and
Strong communication skills, able to negotiate and challenge internal and external stakeholders
Ideally, you will work with HRMC, trading standards, 3Pls and other external parties
Strong verbal and written communication skills, a keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy
Intermediate/advanced computer skills
You will already be based in the UK, and eligible to work and remain for 12months+

What is on offer:

Salary of circa £35£38K + benefits
12 months fixed term contract
Hybrid working, applicants who meet all criteria and are not within distance of Bristol, could be hired on a remote basis
