    Appointment Basis: Permanent

Excellent Salary + Benefits- Pension, Life Assurance, Contributed Healthcare plus may more

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people.

From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry.

Every day, more than 80000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Systems Tester in Charge we're looking for?

    Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Control Systems team in a Senior Testing capacity.

You'll be working within a niche area of the business focusing on the latest technology solutions and innovation within Railway Signalling.

Delivering Digital Railway solutions at the front end, with the next generation of Signalling automation and control.

    What are my responsibilities?

As a Systems Tester, you'll lead the Testing and Commissioning activities for a portfolio of projects and be the lead on-site for those associated commissioning activities.

Balancing the need for off-site and on-site testing while leading and mentoring colleagues to grow the System testing team.

Working with the latest technology and continuing developments, the role will be expected to challenge the conventional ways of working and the standards of yesteryear, while keeping an experienced head in respect to the principles of Railway Signalling.

The department and role is expected to lead the way to new and exciting technological advancements, while delivering innovative solutions to those current problems with a large product range of approved technology within Railway Control Systems.

As a Systems Tester in Charge you will be responsible for defining and controlling the testing activities; ensuring that suitable and sufficient evidence is gathered to confirm that the system meets the requirements appropriate to the application and is fit for entry into service.

This includes identifying the testing requirements and developing test plans which are sufficiently robust to ensure that the system meets the requirements of the project and be capable of modifying the test plan as required in a controlled manner and dealing with situations that may arise which may result in restricted use of the system.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

The role of a System Tester in Charge is a safety critical position and vital to the validation of the signalling Control System and how it works in accordance with legal and Network Rail Line and Group standards.

Therefore, you must be an experienced Railway Systems Engineer, able to interpret Control Systems Design and modern Control Systems architecture.

You'll be an experienced Lead or Senior Tester within Railway Control Systems and be practiced in data testing of modern Railway Control Systems, such as WESTCAD/MCS / IECC, TDMs and Train Describers.

In addition to being a technical expert, it is essential that you have an innovative mind, excited by new challenges and not given to the same repetitive solution deliveries.
