Position Overview


Avantor Services provides a broad variety of on-site laboratory services for major pharmaceutical customers and works collaboratively with our clients to provide resources and deliver core scientific activities.


We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician, to join us at our AstraZeneca site in Macclesfield on a full-time, permanent basis.


Working hours:
Monday-Friday 7:00-15:00


Location:
Charter Way, Macclesfield SK10 2NA


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Proactively deliver operational laboratory support managing team workload and service levels as required by AstraZeneca
  • Complete core activities in adherence with defined schedules and quality within specific areas, including buffer and eluent preparation as well as making Medias that are used by AZ
  • Training and mentoring of new Lab Services Associates.
  • Ensure full crosstraining is in place to develop the team and to provide cover for all required service tasks.
  • Responsible for supporting the Lab Services team to ensure productivity, quality, documentation, work schedules, safety, and housekeeping maintain maximum efficiency. Rescheduling of resources if required due to absences or increases in testing by the client
  • Support the Lab Services team to ensure overall consistency in areas of service delivery and interteam Collaboration

Experience Required

  • Experience working in a Laboratory, ideally pharmaceutical
  • Good time management skills, ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
  • Good problemsolving capabilities and confidence to react promptly to deliver the best service
  • Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively possible
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office tools such as Word and Excel
