    Description

    About the Position:

    We have an exciting opportunity for two Route Accident and Assurance Investigators to join our Southern Region team. Based in London Blackfriars, you will play a key role in leading investigations into serious accidents, incidents, and major performance loss events to ensure the safety and reliability of our services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead investigations into serious incidents and accidents to identify causes and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop strong relationships with designated competent persons and investigators to enhance investigation processes.
    • Manage responses to inquiries regarding investigation reports.
    • Build positive relationships with external organizations to establish credibility for Network Rail investigations.
    • Coach local accident investigators and support the implementation of recommendations.
    • Review and evaluate reports to assess assurance processes.
    • Produce insightful reports based on emerging trends and findings.
    • Contribute to culture change through fair investigation practices.
    • Undertake safety assurance activities as needed.

    Requirements:

    Essential:

    • Detailed knowledge of investigation techniques
    • Understanding of railway operations, engineering, safety, and environmental management
    • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Analytical and computer operating skills

    Desirable:

    • NEBOSH Level 6 certification or equivalent
    • Effective influencing skills
