Description
Our client is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Supervisor to join busy and friendly team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to grow this thriving company.


This is a full-time, permanent role and will be based in the company's newly acquired premises in Bury St Edmunds.

Hours of work are 09:00 - 17:00 however some flexibility may be possible.


The Company


Our client supplies, installs and maintains various pumping and other related ancillary equipment to many different industries throughout the UK.

This equipment includes Submersible Sewage & Surface Water Pumps, Pumping Stations, Controls, Treatment Plants, Booster Sets and Swimming Pool Products.

Our client has a very friendly and professional team. They are well-established and going from strength to strength making this a great time to join them.


Duties and responsibilities will include:


  • Monthend accounts, including the reciliation of balance sheets, prepayments and accruals
  • VAT, PAYE & CIS returns
  • Monthly Payroll using Brightpay
  • Maintaining and dating the accounts using order wise (company ERP system)
  • GBP & Foreign Currency Bank reconciliations
  • Daily Sales & Purchase Ledger inputting
  • Setting up of credit accounts for new customers
  • Credit control
  • Posting Purchase Ledger information
  • Reconciling credit cards
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Staff expenses
  • Supplier payment runs
  • Various adhoc duties the support business as required


This is a full time, permanent position initially based at the new premises in Bury St Edmunds and offers a great opportunity to join a busy company with exciting plans for the future.


The following skills and attributes are required:

  • Previous experience within a similar book keeping/ accounts assistant role
  • Some knowledge of postponed accounting for VAT would be advantageous
  • Experience with Brightpay or a similar payroll system
  • Proactive and happy to work both autonomously and as part of a friendly and supportive team
  • A strong team player with a cando attitude and the ability to multitask
  • Solid IT and administration skills
  • Attention to detail is also really important within this position
