Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking person with excellent communication skills for the post of Outpatient Supervisor within Respiratory Medicine.


This role involves managing the 11 Clerical Officers in Brearley Outpatients, who proudly won Admin and Clerical Team of the Year in 2023.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to gain management experience within a highly supportive team.

You should be very organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload as well as allocating the workload for the clerical team.


The Respiratory Medicine Directorate has a broad range of services including the national Pulmonary Vascular Disease Service, a specialist Cystic Fibrosis Service, Interstitial Lung Disease, Occupational Lung Disease, lung cancer, complex asthma and Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (COPD) Service.

The Directorate has 6 inpatient wards, a level 2 Respiratory Support Unit, a busy acute assessment and admission service, dedicated respiratory outpatient department and community-based services such as COPD clinics and a home oxygen service.

Oversee the day-to-day supervision of the Brearley Outpatients clerical team.


Maintain a high level of efficiency in order to meet the needs of the service and deliver a good patient experience.

Ensure that all areas are appropriately staffed and trained.

Allocate duties to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.

Have overview of processes and systems, ensuring compliance with departmental targets.
