    Job Summary

    This role is a key position within the European Corporate Accounting team, which has responsibility for managing the financial and regulatory reporting requirements of all entities within the Barings Europe group.

    The position requires an individual with strong technical and analytical abilities who can efficiently process and review information, as well as good interpersonal skills to support their interactions with their colleagues throughout the business. The position will reside in our London office.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Primary responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of month end accounting journals
  • Reviewing monthly P&Ls and investigating variances
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Provision of support during the annual audit process
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly regulatory returns
  • Assistance in preparation of annual ICARA documentation
  • Checking and authorizing pay-runs
  • Overseeing work of third-party accountants producing accounts for European entities
  • Supporting the European consolidation process

    • Qualifications

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Use of Workday Financials would be an advantage but not required
