    Description

    We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialised MSK Physiotherapist / Osteopath to join our team and take advantage of the fantastic developmental opportunities on offer. A successful candidate will work in an outpatient physiotherapy clinic assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders from a range of sources including GP, orthopaedic and self-referrals.

    The post will provide an opportunity to rotate across our main hub sites at Bognor or Chichester areas and in our range of satellite sites across the same area.

    Main duties of the job You must be a UK registered Physiotherapist or Osteopath to apply, with a broad range of musculoskeletal experience.     Job description Job responsibilities To assess and treat own caseload of patients who may have complex presentations, and maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner. This will include treating a variety of acute and chronic pain patterns, significant impairments due to pain or injury, psychological issues and post-operative rehabilitation.

    To take an active role in the teaching and supervision of junior staff, assistants and students

    Delivering rehabilitation from within one of our GP Practices

    To deputise for the Team Leader as necessary Person Specification Qualification Essential
    • Degree in Physiotherapy or Osteopathy
    • HCPC/General Osteopathic Council Registration
    • Attendance of relevant post graduate courses
    • Up to date professional development portfolio
    Desirable
    • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
    • Member of Professional Body
    Experience Essential
    • At least 12 months post-qualification as a band 5 physiotherapist working within NHS physiotherapy department/s with experience treating ranges of musculoskeletal conditions and post-operative orthopaedic patients
    • Experience of supervising less experienced staff/ Physiotherapy assistants and students
    • Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and/ or MDT
    Skills and Knowledge Essential
    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with physiotherapy and multi/interdisciplinary teams
    • Presentation skills to physiotherapy colleagues
    • Basic working knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology with particular reference to MSK speciality.
    • Basic knowledge of assessment and treatment tools for speciality. Competency and ability to assess and treat core patient caseload in specialist field
    • Able to plan and prioritise own workload efficiently
    • Basic IT skills
    • Ability to use specialist physiotherapy software such as Physio tools, Systm1 etc
    • Good Communication skills
    • Able to work collaboratively with the Team
    • Committed to personal, team and service development
    • Able to maintain judgement under pressure
    • Able to seek support as required
    • Can demonstrate motivation, drive, enthusiasm, flexibility, reliability, empathy and confidence
