Creating original and innovative luxury soft toys, Jellycat combines luxurious fabrics with quirky and cute designs and sells its products online and via stockists throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.


The Junior People Partner is fully dedicated to the needs of the business and its' employees' and works to develop and implement effective people management practices.

The role holder forms strong working relationships across the business to deliver a value-added service that reflects the business objectives.

They must therefore maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business, its' midrange plans, the culture and competition.


You'll be;

  • Coaching and guiding managers on how to effectively develop their people, improve team productivity and manage organisational change
  • Combining your commercial and HR expertise to build credible working relationships with employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Assisting the Head of People with the reporting of key HR KPIs / metrics to agree actions and drive improvements
  • Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Managing all grievance, disciplinary and other employee relations cases, liasing with employment lawyers and escalating to the Head of People for support where necessary
  • Championing and driving Jellycat culture and employee engagement
  • Coaching line managers on the people performance management cycle, ensuring all reviews are completed and action plans are in place where improvement is required, or talent needs to be developed.
  • Developing line manager capability through coaching and training
  • Assisting the Head of People with People Projects as and when necessary (for example; workforce and succession planning, D&I initiatives, leadership and development programs, organisational culture and design, and employee engagement and retention strategies).
  • Developing and ensuring compliance with People policies and processes
  • Effectively promoting the use of the People Management Platform, ensuring it is utilised effectively by the business

You'll have;

  • CIPD Qualified (Level 5 or above), or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience working in an HR generalist role
  • Good working knowledge of UK Employment Law
  • Previous experience of working with HR systems, MS Office
  • A personable and efficient manner that reflects the ethos of the brand
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Competence handling sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
  • A track record of effective employee relations case management
  • Ability to problem solve with the ability to foresee problems and propose solutions
  • Ability to be a team player who is flexible, positive, and enjoys building professional relationships
