About the role


As Head of Risk, you will lead and maintain an effective risk management framework so that Atlanta Group (AG) can demonstrate identification and management of its key risk exposures, including strategic, regulatory, operational and financial risks.

Evaluating the effectiveness of management's first line of defence, ensuring the effectiveness of the risk management process, and assessing or challenging the appropriateness of risk mitigation strategies.


You will work on an Enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in conjunction with Ardonagh Group Risk where you will maintain and update the Risk Framework methodology along with assisting the Chief Risk Officer in all aspects of risk operations.


Working with Group Governance, Internal Audit and Group Assurance, you will drive the agenda and content in relation to Risk and Audit.


You will also be involved with all planning and training, developing and maintaining of the annual risk management plan (forms part of the overall R&C strategy) as well as facilitating education on the Risk Management Framework.


You will work collaboratively with the wider Group Risk team, directly influencing the development and implementation of the Group Risk Framework (including risk management systems) in line with broader organisational strategy and provide coaching, support and development to the Group Risk Manager.


Skills required

  • You should have solid experience in risk related roles with a mix of professional services and industry, with good analysis and problem solving, communicating and influencing.
  • Be a good team player with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Have general insurance industry and regulatory environment experience.
  • Knowledge of capital and risk management frameworks, inc. qualitative and quantitative risk aggregation
  • Ability to design and deliver risk analytics and reporting to Board / Committees.
