Proactively managing our data on a large scale to unleash the value of our combined data assets and predictions in real-timeA Senior Governance Engineer is a key technical contributor who can consistently interpret a loosely defined business or technical requirement, design and develop it to a detailed specification, and deliver on it at a high standard.

You have a strong emphasis on metrics, both for the impact of your work and for its operational aspects.

As a Senior Governance engineer, you will have a vital role in ensuring that our product teams create reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure and applications.

You will closely collaborate with the platform infrastructure and data operations teams to implement security and governance solutions within our existing technological framework.

You should have a deep understanding of the tools and processes related to security and governance for regulated industries and be capable of working with stakeholders to translate those requirements into efficient and user-friendly products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable and reliable governance solutions using a mix of existing technologies, open-source tools, and newly identified integrations.
• Developing and maintaining an automated policy engine that integrates with existing authorization systems, utilizes policy as code, is cloud-native (GCP), and connected with other Onyx Platforms and frameworks.
• Enabling governance through the design and implementation of user-friendly products by utilizing computational and automatable engines and integrations with existing data platforms and pipelines, metadata, and authorization systems.
• Understanding, enriching with Onyx and combining requirements from security and internal regulatory teams to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations as part of the governance products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to comprehend business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient governance products.
• Utilizing standard agile development SDLC processes for development management, CI/CD, and automation for infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes.
• Staying informed about the latest trends and best practices in security, governance, and data governance and contributing to the continuous enhancement of our overall infrastructure and data platform.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the organization.
• Troubleshooting and resolving governance-related issues and offering technical support to internal teams.

Why you?Basic Qualifications:

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills to help us achieve our objectives:PHD +2 years, Master's +4 years, or Bachelors +6 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and utilization of one or more programming languages:
e.g., Python, Scala, Java.

Experience in utilizing any cloud-based governance solutions, such as Open Policy Agent (OPA), Strya-DAS, Immuta, Privacera, Gatekeeper, AWS Data Governance tools, Google Cloud Data Catalog/DataPlex, or Microsoft Azure Purview, to manage and govern access across various cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you possess the following attributes, it would be beneficial:Extensive knowledge of computational data governance, data security, compliance regulations, and industry best practices.

Experience with managing authorization and authentication as code, integrating with Enterprise role-based access tools.

Demonstrated experience in building reusable components on top of the CNCF ecosystem including Kubernetes (or similar ecosystem) Experience in modern software development tools / ways of working (e.g.

git/GitHub, devops tools, metrics / monitoring, ...)Cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Kubernetes), including infrastructure-as-codeApplication experience of CI/CD implementations using git and a common CI/CD stack (e.g.

Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, Azure DevOps)Demonstrated excellence with agile software development environments using tools like Jira and ConfluencePassionate about data-management and governance/privacy best practiceThe annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $168,300 to $227,700 considering various factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role.

This position also offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share-based long-term incentive program, depending on the role's level.
