6 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Secondary PGCE Religious Education at Bath Spa University.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
As Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Secondary PGCE RE, you will be responsible for delivering and developing aspects of the RE course within the PGCE Secondary programme, as well as contributing to other programmes across the School of Education such as CPD and the professional component of the PGCE programme.
While carrying responsibility for the PGCE secondary RE course, you will be expected to play an active role across the whole Initial Teacher Education (ITE) department which covers all courses in ITE and as a member of the ITE Department, you will engage with government initiatives affecting teacher education and training.
Your duties will also include recruiting trainees, assessing coursework and teaching, preparing for inspections, and contributing to mentor training.Additionally, you will participate in departmental meetings, provide trainee references, and assist in delivering in-service courses and consultancy.
You will be an enthusiastic and innovative individual with a strong foundation in teaching religious education.
You will possess sound knowledge of current teaching approaches in RE, along with excellent ICT skills, including proficiency in e-learning tools.
As an excellent teacher with a passion for pedagogic innovation, you will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, networking, and communication abilities.
Problem-solving skills, coupled with a commitment to advocating for best practices in teaching and learning, are essential.In addition, you will be flexible, adaptive, a committed team player and have a positive approach to change.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract from 01/09/ /08/2025.
The postholder will also be required to, at times, work unsociable hours, eg: Open events for prospective candidates, some early starts and late returns on school visits
