Head of Data Science and Engineering - Permanent - London - Azure - PowerBI - ML - AI

Head of Data Science and Engineering is required to join an insurance company in London on a full time basis.

The Head of Data Science and Engineering will develop the data engineering capability within the company and find innovative and efficient waysto source data, create automated pipelines of data and utilise ML/AI capabilities to derive insights that can automate decisions for the business.

The company has recently brought back in house it's data functionality.

Salary:
£120,000-£135, % bonus

Location:
London Hybrid working role

Key Skills:

Significant experience in accessing, integrating, sharing data across the business introducing responsibilities for enhancing our data maturity in each function
Strong understanding of data integration, mining, science and analytics technology systems including but not limited to: RDBMS, reporting tools, Microsoft Azure Synapse, Data bricks, Jupyter notebooks
Experience in using reporting technologies to derive insights from data to support business requirement
Extensive knowledge in data storytelling, being able to quickly derive insights from data
Good understanding of data science and engineering discipline, processes, concepts and best practices.
Experience managing cross functional teams and matrix management
Solid background in interpreting business strategy and translating this into IT Strategy
Strong understanding of insurance as a business and what insights are needed to effectively increase value and achieve the businesses objectives
