Shrine Shop Assistant
(part-time position)

We are looking for a shop assistant to work a minimum of 14 hours per week serving customers in the Shrine retail operations. You will be required to provide a high level of customer service to pilgrims and visitors with purchasing literature and mementoes, to help enrich their pilgrimage experience at the Catholic National Shrine & Basilica of Our Lady, Walsingham.

You will create a welcoming atmosphere in the shop and will enjoy engaging with a wide range of people as part of an enthusiastic team.

You will be based at the Slipper Chapel Shop, Houghton St Giles, NR22 6AL.

Key responsibilities will include:

Advising customers on the range of merchandise available and assist them with their purchasing.
To welcome pilgrims and visitors with authentic enthusiasm and be committed to improving their experience of Walsingham.
To ensure that the Shrine shop is appropriately stocked to reflect the needs of customers.
To operate electronic point of sale tills, ensuring that all stock is coded, and sales/stock recorded accurately.
To be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
To contribute to a cando service delivery culture within the team.

This is an interesting role which would suit someone who enjoys interacting with and helping people with a positive attitude.

It requires someone committed to the mission of the Shrine and to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure joined up working.

It will involve weekend and Bank Holiday working.

Pay:
£10.90 per hour

Hours:
Minimum 14 hours per week, normally between 9am and 5pm.
