Pilgrim Assistant - Shrine
(Part time position - Seasonal)

We are looking for a Pilgrim Assistant for 14 hours per week, primarily weekends, to be an integral part of our Shrine team, helping to provide an effective Stewarding service for pilgrims, ensuring their visit is a spiritually rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

Traffic Management and assisting with car parking.
Assisting with grounds cleanliness.
Welcoming and assisting Pilgrims with their needs.
Being able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Contributing to the overall positive culture of our organisation, which may include occasional working in other areas within the organisation.

This interesting role demands excellent customer service, as well as being organised and self-motivated.

Previous experience desirable. Full induction and training will be given.

Our Shrine is open 7 days a week all year round and our Pilgrimage season runs from 1st March to 31st October.

The Shrine of Our Lady, Walsingham was established in 1061. In 1934 the Slipper Chapel was declared to be the Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady in England. The Shrine now attracts 100,000 + pilgrims a year. An understanding of the Catholic ethos is desirable but not essential. Willingness to learn is key.

Pay:
£10.90 per hour

Hours:
Minimum 14 hours per week, primarily weekends, Bank Holidays and others as required. Fixed term contract 1st April - 30th September 2024

An Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this role.
