- To be registered with Social Work England and hold a degree in Social Care or similar with strong knowledge in social care legislation such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act .
- Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team setting.

We've got an exciting opportunity for Social Workers within our Safeguarding Team and our General Duty Team within Adult Social Care. Our mission is to empower adults to live independently as possible, and we need your expertise to make it happen. This role will challenge you in a dynamic and diverse environment, helping you expand your skills and knowledge in the practice of social care.
As a Social Worker within the Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for triaging incoming safeguarding referrals, ascertain whether it meets the threshold for enquiry and determine the next course of action to address the risk. Social Workers will need to formulate protection plans that prioritise the needs and voices of service users, integrating input from various professionals, families/carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. They will need to be confident in responding to complex scenarios and crisis situations such as self neglect and domestic abuse.
As a Social Worker within the General Duty team, you will be responsible for triaging referrals that are received through the Contact Centre, have the ability to respond in a person-centred way using a prevention and strength based approach, working proactively to identify individuals who may be at risk of developing social care needs in the future. You will be required to work with health partners, community groups, service users and residents to facilitate co-production. Social Workers will need to work collaboratively with staff in the Locality Teams who provide longer term support to residents.

Adults First Contact Service - Safeguarding, DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) and General Duty
Sutton has a well established DoLS team comprising of Best Interest Assessors (BIAs) undertaking assessments on behalf of the Borough, leading to Standard Deprivations of Liberty under the Mental Capacity Act. We have introduced a new Adults First Contact Service that is focused on improving access and the experience of the resident. The team will focus on the person's strength and abilities, screening to see if the person has safeguarding, deprivation of liberty safeguards or Care Act eligibility. Our ambition is also to provide information and advice that supports our residents' independence.
