About the opportunity:


We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant - Credit Controller to join our Finance department at our Hamilton Office.

As
a Credit Controller you will ensure timely collection of cash, meet debtor day KPIs and resolve external queries.

Your responsibilities:


  • Timely collection of outstanding debt
  • Investigating and resolving customer queries
  • Accurate processing & timely checking of sales invoices & credit notes
  • Internal liaison with all departments to ensure job invoicing is up to date
  • Ensure accurate backup attached to sales invoices sent externally
  • Ability to check VAT treatment for different sector types
  • Internal liaison with all departments to ensure queries are dealt with efficiently & timeously
  • Monthly aged debt reporting
  • Accurate allocation of payments received on a daily basis
  • Production of reports as required, such as cash forecasting, Aged Debt & Bad Debt Provision
  • Assist FC/FD with any control account discrepancies at month end
  • Update and maintain relevant filing systems, databases and reports
  • Provide absence cover for other members of the Finance team.
  • Any other adhoc duties

Experience / Knowledge:


  • Experience of working in credit control
  • Understanding of Sales Ledger process and impact of debt/debtor days
  • Working to deadlines
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Excel i.e. Pivot Tables/VLookUps
  • Willing to take responsibility, happy to work in a busy and fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, willing to adapt to new tasks and duties
  • Organised, methodical approach to work
  • Attention to detail
