About the Role:


  • We are looking for a friendly and engaged Support Worker to work with our male client who has Motor Neuron Disease (MND). Our client enjoys going out and this requires staff to be happy to carry equipment and enable him to enjoy being in the community.
  • He also likes to go to concerts and would prefer a person who enjoys all genres of music. On gig nights the client will need a support worker to stay with him until the concert ends which could be after midnight.
  • Occasionally the client will go away and would prefer support staff who would be willing to go on holiday with him.

Shift patterns:


Various shifts available Monday to Sunday 07:00 - 15:00 and 15:00 - 22:00

_Driving clients manual vehicle would be preferential_

Salary:
£12.03 to £12.43 per hour


Essential:


  • Experience as a Health Care Assistant or Support Worker.
  • Likes Cats the client has a cat.
  • Likes music.
  • Flexible with shift time on an evening.
  • Driver with no points on license may be required to drive clients vehicle.

Preferred:


  • Experience with MND and knowledge of what it is prior to meeting him.
  • Peg feeding.
  • Cough Assist equipment.
  • Tracheostomy's.
  • Suction.

Skills and personal characteristics needed to be a carer are:


  • Caring and kind.
  • Cheerful and friendly.
  • Willing to be handson with clients at all times while following their plan.
  • Willing to do personal care tasks (washing, toileting, etc.)
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Able to work in a team but use their own initiative.
