ABOUT THE ROLE


Due to an ever-growing portfolio of contracts within our organisation, we are currently seeking a Junior Commercial Officer to join our Commercial team and would suit Graduate/individual who is looking for a career in Commercial / Contract management.

The role will be based on Hybrid working, primarily be working from home, with occasional travel to the office and customer sites where required in support of both your role and career development.


Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will ideally have a basic understanding of commercial practices and be able support the wider Commercial Team with supplier management, contracting activities and other related processes.

You will be responsible for supporting contract and subcontract engagement activities within our Defence operations including (but not limited to) the following:


  • Support the Commercial Team to administer contract documentation and agreements with our supply chain partners (both Customers and Suppliers), such as:
  • Maintain accurate records of supply chain partners to ensure they are up to date
  • Working with the Commercial team to accurately record the documents and contracts we have in place
  • Drafting letters and other communications to suppliers and customers with support from the Commercial Team
  • Support the daytoday administration of contracts and agreements, including when agreements expire or are due to expire.
  • Maintain an organised system of digital records for all commercial documentation, including the Commercial directory, online portal and intranet
  • Assist the Commercial Officer in the drafting, review and negotiation of contract documentation and agreements with our supply chain partners, such as:
  • Confidentiality Agreements (i.e. Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs));
  • Teaming Agreements;
  • Framework Agreements;
  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs);
  • Letters of Intent;
  • Standard Terms and Conditions
  • Assist the Commercial Officer in the preparation and distribution of subcontract documentation (including Off-Payroll Working (IR35) related activities) and ensuring that all contracts are signed and approved in line with company procedures/Delegation of Authority.
  • Role will also include wider adhoc commercial support to the business and stakeholders as necessary, including (but not limited to) supporting bid/proposal preparation (in respect to commercial responses only).

ABOUT YOU

  • Commercial/Contract Management and/or Office/Business Administration qualification (preferable but not essential)
  • 3 years (minimum) Proven experience in Commercial Administration or Office Administration (essential)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of commercial contracts and agreements is desirable
  • Industry experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous
  • Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Be highly articulate with excellent attention to detail with an ability to spot errors
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Confident selfstarter
  • Willing to travel to support the needs of the business as and when required
