£16.55 per hour with premium overtime rates. Overtime available.

Two-week rotating shift pattern (37 hours):

Week 1:
Monday to Thursday: 6:00 a

m till 2:05 pm, Friday:
6:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m.

Week 2:
Monday to Thursday: 2:05 p

m till 10:10 pm, Friday:
12:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m.

Precision Components Ltd is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of high precision compressor rotors, and we have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Miller Programmer / Operator.

We are seeking a time-served operator with a minimum of three years' experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls.


Job Purpose:


As part of a multi-skilled and friendly engineering team, you will program, set up, and operate CNC VMC & HMC machines to produce precision components to high specifications and rigorous quality standards.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Programme, set up, and operate VMC & HMC machines, specifically Doosan machines with Fanuc CNC controls, to mill parts with 0.010mm tolerances.
  • Make necessary adjustments to programmes (Fanuc) to achieve the required component specifications. Possessing the ability to write programs would be advantageous.
  • Check and measure your own work using conventional measurement techniques (micrometers/gauges/verniers), identify any errors, and make necessary adjustments to consistently produce highquality components.
  • Follow technical drawings and manufacture components according to the required specifications.
  • Maintain a tidy and wellorganized work area and perform regular machine maintenance tasks.
  • Offer suggestions for improvements, support the business with lean initiatives, and actively participate in the development of apprentices and the induction of new starters.

Skills and attributes:


  • Proven experience as a timeserved CNC operator Miller with programming experience in Fanuc controls.
  • Experience in producing complex components with very tight tolerances.
  • Proficiency in operating a range of milling, VMC, and HMC machines.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to learn other machine operations with training.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Knowledge of metal cutting techniques and Lean principles.

You may have experience in the following: CNC Operator, CNC Machine Operator, Miller, Turner, Grinder, CNC Grinder, Machine Operator, CNC Programmer, CNC Engineer, Machinist, CNC Setter, etc.
