    Description
    OCU is a prominent engineering service provider in the utilities sector, focusing on power, telco, water, and more. Based in Stockport, our operations cover the entire UK, serving major utility providers.
    We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join us at our refurbished head office in Stockport on a 12-month FTC. In this role, you will oversee the Accounts Receivable function of the OCU Group, managing a team of 4, handling sales invoices, monitoring client accounts, ensuring timely payments, and reducing bad debt risks.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Invoicing and Statements
    • Managing the Accounts Receivable team for accurate and timely invoicing.
    • Sending statements and reminders to clients for outstanding balances.
    • Payment Monitoring:
    • Tracking client accounts for on-time payments.
    • Addressing late payments promptly.
    Client Communication:
    • Building and nurturing positive client relationships.
    • Maintaining regular communication regarding client accounts.
    • Handling client queries on invoices and payments.
    • Reporting:
    • Generating and analyzing aged debt reports.
    • Providing updates on bad debt provisions.
    • Legal Compliance:
    • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and credit control policies.
    • Collaborating with legal counsel if needed.
    • Process Improvement:
    • Evaluating and enhancing AR processes.
    • Implementing best practices for efficiency.
    Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
    • Proven experience in AR management or supervision.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Relevant industry experience preferred.
    • Attention to detail and analytical abilities.
    • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Proactive and results-driven.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
    • Capable of handling pressure and meeting deadlines.
