Cardiff & Vale University Health Board are looking to recruit a number of phlebotomists.
We are looking to employ a part time phlebotomists based at UHW site, The part time position is for 20 hours per week, worked 5 mornings per week. The post holders will be required to work on rotation a Saturday or Sunday morning and bank holidays. On occasions the department will require a 7am service start advanced notice will be given.
As a phlebotomist,you will take blood samples from patients which are examined in a laboratory and the results can be used to quickly diagnose diseases and conditions. Phlebotomists are an instrumental part of the NHS team, making sure that the diagnosis of illness is done quickly and safely.
You don't need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent care worker.
The post will involve some travelling between sites within the University Health Board such as University Hospital of Wales, University Hospital Llandough, Barry Hospital, St Davids, the Emergency Unit and a variety of GP Practices so the ability to safely transport laboratory samples is also essential.
