Description

A vacancy has become available for a Senior Garment Technologist to join our award-winning design team at our Manchester location.

We have been manufacturing and supplying licensed childrens garments to some of the largest, and brightest retailers in the UK for over 50 years.


Your role will be in ensuring that all Customers requirements are met, managing a team of three reports whilst ensuring best practice in our 3D design software.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for key customer accounts, achieving all technical Critical Path dates.
  • Check first fit/red & gold seals, where applicable, and send to customer along with necessary paperwork/specifications for approval.
  • Working closely with the Account Manager
  • Ensure that factories are manufacturing in accordance with Cooneen and customer guidelines and provide technical support.
  • Complete customer workbooks and attend customer PP and fit meetings as required.
  • Ensure all relevant testing is complete in accordance with Cooneen and customer guidelines
  • Check and approve the factory AQL & needle / metal detection reports and inform the Account Manager of any issues.
  • Technical Team Management, acting as mentor for Junior Technologists, and managing the day to day requirements, appraisal, disciplinary, holidays etc.
  • Responsible for development and training input and recommendations across CBD technologists
  • Hold weekly meetings with the technical team where any issues should be highlighted.
  • Ensure that workloads remain balanced throughout the team
  • Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility and Implement improvements which have been agreed with your manager.
  • Lead monthly Product Review meeting section in the monthly production meeting to focus on continuous improvement across CBD range of products, fabrics and techniques and fits. Ensuring learning and actions are implemented across the business.

Requirements:


Essential

  • 5 years experience in a garment technology role dealing with customers
  • Experience of pattern development / grading.
  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Experienced in the use of MS office, particularly MS Word & Excel.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing a team in a similar environment
  • QC experience of garments & fabric.
  • Experience of Browzewear or another comparable 3D software
  • Experience of Childrenswear products
  • Experience with Gerber level
  • A clothing technology related qualification.

Other material requirements

  • Ability to see a full colour range.
  • Must be willing to travel as and when required.
  • Willing if required, to undertake a CRB Check.
  • Clean driving license
  • Ability to see full colour range.
