Rate:
£ £90.00 per day


Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (term-time only)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join TimePlan as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Southampton.


As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties, helping them develop essential life skills, manage their emotions, and engage effectively in the learning process.

You will collaborate with our experienced teaching staff to implement personalised strategies and interventions tailored to each student's unique needs.


Responsibilities:


  • Support and assist students on a onetoone or small group basis, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour management techniques and create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individualised Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback and reporting to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Encourage students' social and emotional development, fostering their selfesteem and confidence.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of emotional and behavioral challenges and the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or willingness to undergo training if not already qualified.
