Business Development Manager

New Business Sales of Software into a Range of Verticals

Home-Based - Any UK Location

£45,000 - £50,000 Base (neg) + OTE + Excellent Bens
Our client is an established software company with a unique proposition in the Environmental and Health and Safety arenas.

They have household name clients in over eighty countries worldwide and the backing of a parent company with substantial resources.

As part of the continuing rapid growth of the UK and Ireland region, our client now wishes to hire a Business Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in their continual development.


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:

  • Taking leads and appointments created by the internal sales team and turning them into clients
  • the majority of the BDM's pipeline will come from this source
  • Developing some of his or her own opportunities to top up the leads generated internally
  • Managing complex sales cycles at C level
  • Closing profitable business
  • Working with senior management and colleagues in other countries to ensure consistency across global regions
  • A proven track record in new business sales within a software / SaaS environment. Specific knowledge of our client's sector would be helpful but is not required
  • An understanding of how to sell software, SaaS or similar complex solutions
  • Ability to articulate complex issues to both technical and nontechnical audiences, supported by experts as required.
  • Creative thinking, senior level stakeholder management and commercial nous are all prerequisites for this position.
  • Be happy with some travel
  • Be a selfstarter who enjoys space to operate
This is a home-based role with UK/Eire travel.
