Residential Care Worker

Location:
Erdington, Birmingham

Employment Type:
Permanent

Salary:
£20,381-£25,181 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Working Hours:
One day on, two days off (7.30 am pm), including sleep-in from 7.00 am am the following day.

About Us:

Beacon Childcare is a reputable organisation dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to children facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

We operate a 4-bedroom residential house in Erdington, where we provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in need.

As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of the children under our care.

You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create a positive and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and development.

Responsibilities:

Provide daytoday care and support to children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
Create a safe and nurturing environment, promoting a sense of belonging and security.
Implement care plans and strategies, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Encourage and facilitate the development of life skills, independence, and social integration.
Promote positive behaviour management techniques, fostering emotional resilience.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and progress.
Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure comprehensive care provision.
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
A compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Flexibility to work shifts, including sleepin duties and weekends.
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
A valid enhanced DBS check and compliance with regulatory requirements (to be completed prior to starting the role).
