Residential Care Worker

Location:
Erdington, Birmingham


Employment Type:
Permanent


Salary:
£20,381-£25,181 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)


Working Hours:
One day on, two days off (7.30 am pm), including sleep-in from 7.00 am am the following day.

Beacon Childcare is a reputable organisation dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to children facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

We operate a 4-bedroom residential house in Erdington, where we provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in need.


As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of the children under our care.

You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create a positive and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and development.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide daytoday care and support to children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment, promoting a sense of belonging and security.
  • Implement care plans and strategies, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Encourage and facilitate the development of life skills, independence, and social integration.
  • Promote positive behaviour management techniques, fostering emotional resilience.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure comprehensive care provision.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with children or young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleepin duties and weekends.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check and compliance with regulatory requirements (to be completed prior to starting the role).
