    Job Summary

    An opportunity is available for a CPPE qualified pharmacy technician to join the well-established and patient-focused pharmacy team at Goldington Avenue Surgery. The team includes a senior clinical pharmacist, two clinical pharmacists, two pre-registration pharmacists, a pharmacy technician, and three prescription clerks. The role involves covering for the pharmacy technician who will be on maternity leave starting in July 2023. While initially a fixed-term position, there is potential for it to become permanent if desired.

    Goldington Avenue Surgery, situated across two sites, primarily operates from the Union Street Branch. You will work in a collaborative hub with immediate support from pharmacists, fostering relationships and providing insight into team dynamics. The surgery serves approximately 19,000 patients and excels in QOF and PIS schemes. The pharmacy team plays a crucial role in audits, chronic disease reviews, medication reconciliations, and reauthorization tasks.

    Main Duties of the Job

    Although not mandatory, applications from individuals with chronic disease training are encouraged, as they may assist in conducting chronic disease reviews. Effective communication skills are vital for the pharmacy technician, particularly in interactions with patients and colleagues. Key responsibilities include medication reconciliation, ensuring proper medication monitoring, and adherence to established safeguards and protocols.
