Position Overview:
We are looking for a Stores Operative to join us as we go through an exciting growth phase in Cambridge.
Do you have a background in the day-to-day running of a stock room or in a logistics environment? Maybe you just have an interest in science and want to kick off your career with a leading company in the sector? This may be the opportunity for you.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Inventory management (consumables, chemicals, samples) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site, and fulfilling customer metric reporting
- Inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting
- Purchasing functions including back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues
- Shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections
- Handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements
Experience Required:
- Experience in stock room/warehouse environments
- Knowledge/experience of Inventory Stock Management Systems
- Understanding and experience of Health & Safety requirements
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels and the confidence to make decisions
