- Manage the team's daily tasks, establish standard policies and procedures.
- Empower Shift Supervisors to execute the production plan efficiently, guiding them in running their teams, completing work orders, and balance product lines
- Identify opportunities for business improvements e.g., LEAN Manufacturing
- Meet daily with your teams, using 'Plan, Do, Check, Act' to check progress and resolve issues quickly. Using KPI's to make strategic decisions
- Understand how Safety Stocks are calculated and work with the BU Leader to update these monthly – ensuring the right balance is found between customer service and inventory optimization
- Support continuous development, trouble shooting, attending meetings and writing reports as needed
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understand the challenges posed to Setters, Maintenance Engineers, Operators, Quality and Warehouse staff
- Communicate and provide feedback. Listen, motivate, and inspire. Focus on employee development and recognise their individual strengths and weaknesses
- Extensive plant level experience with significant proven supervisory experience
- Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Kaizen, lean manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience – preferably Sage X3
- Negotiable salary depending on experience plus production bonus (around £6k per year) paid monthly
- Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm (42.5 hours)
- 25 days annual leave
