Purpose of the role:


Duties and accountabilities:


  • Ability to take charge of the management of documentation and information within the underwriting team and ensure this is maintained to a high standard.
  • To process and check inward policy information including quotes, submissions and slips within specified standards and Contract Certainty requirements alongside scanning of all documentation into inhouse systems.
  • Check internal reports relating to Technical Rating Model output and Performance Management Data Returns. Investigation and possible correction of any irregular data is required.
  • Provide assistance to Credit Control with advice regarding written to actual premium differences plus broker liaison.
  • Review the Capita Data Entry Accuracy (2nd Checking) reports and advise of changes required when data entry errors are discovered. This involves liaising with Capita and having an understanding of the recording rules.
  • Generate ad hoc reports (e.g. renewal reports) to maximise the team's knowledge base.
  • Liaise with the Aggregations Team to ensure the accurate entry of aggregate information, if required.
  • Development of underwriting and technical knowledge in the respective class of business.
  • To assist in compliance and conduct risk related activities for new and renewal business.

Skills, knowledge and experience:


  • Educated to Alevel, Degree or equivalent/similar.
  • Elementary exposure to compliance, DUA and or exposure management (CAT modelling) would be advantageous.
  • Microsoft Excel skills advantageous (V-Lookup's/pivot tables)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work fast and accurately with a focus on deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and soft skills.
  • Working towards ACII qualification (or prepared to).
