    Job description

    Job responsibilities

The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic midwife to join our innovative and award winning maternity service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 position to provide leadership to ensure effective management of community/continuity of carer teams in the Bordon and Haslemere area. The teams operate from bespoke maternity hubs which provide a 7 day antenatal and postnatal service for women and birthing people within this geographical area.

Working within the maternity hub model provides enormous job satisfaction, with a great sense of teamwork and it also supports excellent clinical outcomes and a positive and personalised patient experience. The model of care enables midwives to build relationships with the women and families in their care.

This will include reviewing clinic capacity, activity and staffing and supporting the clinical provision of care for a proportion of the contracted hours. The post holder will be motivated and demonstrate an ability to facilitate exceptional patient experience as well as provide robust leadership to the midwives within the team.

The maternity department at the Royal Surrey is highly successful; it is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. The service has also achieved joint first for patient experience in the 2023 CQC patient Survey, Gold Accreditation under the Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative and has achieved all 10 safety actions as a part of NHS Resolutions CNST scheme. The maternity department prides itself on the high quality care it provides to women and families; this is achieved by focusing on innovation, quality improvement and staff health and wellbeing.
