    We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior ICT Technician to join our team.

    At Moseley, you can look forward to being part of a dynamic team who are responsive to the needs of the students, with Entry Level being delivered from Year 9, to ensure students who need it get the support to be able to access GCSE. At A-level, we have a varied and engaging choice of texts. These are adapted to the needs and interests of each cohort.

    • knowledge and understanding of Group Policy, Active Directory, Anti-Virus Solutions


    • experience of working in an ICT environment


    • experience using Windows Server 2012/2016/2019

    Core Purpose:


    • to manage the ICT technician and ensure that all tickets are resolved in a timely manner


    • to provide a high standard of technical support for the ICT infrastructure of Moseley School and Sixth Form through various channels and be the first point of contact for all third parties

    Line Management Responsibilities:


    • responsible for the line management and overseeing the work of the ICT Technician and in the post holders' absence provide cover for this role


    • line management will include the day-to-day supervision of the work, ensuring responsibilities are delivered as required; performance management, recruitment and selection activities for the post


    • ensure appropriate training and development is identified and provided to staff

    General Responsibilities:


    • carry out routine and ad hoc tasks, including (but not limited to) anti-virus checking and other housekeeping tasks, ensuring preventable errors do not occur


    • maintain the school's virtual and physical security systems – smooth wall, anti-virus and cloud-based services


    • management of your own ticket queue


    • to ensure efficient and effective running of day-to-day school ICT


    • in line with the school's policy, develop and maintain all of the school's ICT systems to ensure maximum availability and access and efficiency


    • liaison with third party providers as required to undertake duties


    • configure new workstations, printers, telephones etc. and install software in accordance with licenses, as well as resolving hardware fault, including the repair of ICT systems, down to modular level and occasionally component level


    • support and instruct students and staff in the use of the network, internet, and software


    • support and instruct staff in the use of audio-visual equipment


    • cover the role of the ICT Manager when required


    • support with the management of the school website in the Design and Communications Manager absence


    • monitor and enforce the School's Acceptable Use policy, liaising with the ICT Manager as required


    • update the web filtering service when requests for access are made in accordance with change management protocols


    • administration of the G-Suite environment and management for users/software for Chromebook devices


    • manage the production of ID badges, door access control, In Ventry system, printing group membership


    • management of the Digital Signage system to ensure functionality and communication for the Design and Communications Officer


    • manage the disposal of kit through the relevant disposal company to ensure no data breach through recycled equipment


    • oversee the day-to-day management of the teaching and learning systems we have in school (MS Teams, Edulink and so on)
