Position Summary:
An opportunity has arisen in the Engineering organisation for an Electronics Engineer.
The successful applicant will work as part of a highly motivated development team working to meet quality, cost and schedule targets across a range of devices.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing PCB layout, working with various development teams on electronics design, documentation, library management and test of a range of electronic circuits.
More experienced candidates will be interacting with cross functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and overseeing process and workload management in addition to electronics design.
Key Responsibilities:
Main development responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:
Design, develop and document microcontroller-based PCB assemblies. More experienced candidates will be working with microprocessors and FPGAs.
Generating schematic drawings, BOM, Gerber package, bare board documentation and assembly documentation for PCB manufacturing.
Supporting hardware unit test, as well as integration and systems testing.
Designing multilayer PCB layout while meeting specified requirements, established design rules (including electronic circuit knowledge) and meeting DFM standards using Cadence Schematics Capture and Cadence Allegro tools (Cadence Allegro experience preferred but not essential).
Regular progress reporting on schedule, quality & size of change.Support for existing devices through problem investigation and resolution.
Collaborating with mechanical engineers to define and verify requirements.
Collaborating with electronics design engineers to define parts placement, trace routing and power distribution requirements.
Assisting with the maintenance of ECAD libraries for the team.
Experienced candidates will be proficient in PCB Soldering and board debug skills and will be expected to coordinate estimates of effort, schedule, and size of change to the relevant Project Manager, alongside mentoring Junior Engineers.
