We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier Manager for a permanent opportunity with a highly regarded law firm based in Durham


The overall purpose of this role is to support the Head of Finance in the provision of Financial Services to the firm by providing competent and efficient assistance in Legal Cashier / Bookkeeping duties, and management of other team members.


You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ensuring the firm is always compliant with the Solicitors Accounts Rules 201
  • Supporting the operation of the client and business accounting systems, whilst adhering to the firm's finance policies and procedures, and treating any privileged information with confidence.
  • Responsible for all daytoday legal cashiering duties, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Awareness and understanding of money laundering, being always vigilant, in particular when verifying incoming and outgoing monies.
  • Ensuring that all authorised client related supplier invoices are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Managing petty cash, banking and production of cheque procedures across multiple offices.
  • Managing other team members, ensuring all deadlines are met, and any training requirements recognised, both within the team and the firm.
  • Supporting the COFA in their audit and reporting duties, maintaining internal policies and procedures, in accordance with the Solicitors Account Rules, when changes arise.
