Position:
Traineeship Learning & Development Coach


Reporting to:
Traineeship Team Leader


Locations:
North West Region to include Liverpool and Manchester.
This will be a national post and face to face delivery will be required across this geographical area.


Position Purpose:
The Traineeship Learning and Development Coach will plan for, teach and support learners to complete their traineeship programme to include Essential Digital Skills, Employability and Functional Skills


This will be delivered in a classroom environment, as well as in small groups, individual and tailored 1-1 support sessions as appropriate.

All B-Skill Learning & Development Coaches should have the ability to inspire learners with personal credibility and professional confidence.


Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver engaging Functional Skills and Essential Digital Skills delivery sessions which will include group and 1:1 sessions with the objective to ensure learners achieve their Essential Digital Skills qualification in line with planned end date.
  • Deliver engaging Employability delivery sessions which will include group and 1:1 sessions with the objective to ensure learners.
  • Use outcomes of initial and diagnostic system (BKSB) to plan, deliver and review learning programmes to meet individual learner needs.
  • To work with the Quality Assurance team to create a programme of learning with appropriate teaching and learning strategies, resources and assessments, to ensure the quality of the learning experience is maintained throughout the programme.
  • Undertake learner induction and identify appropriate learning systems adapting suitable teaching methods to suit learners needs.
  • Maintain records of learners progress, achievement and communicate these to Traineeship Team Leader and learners.
  • Maintain attendance plans and registers and update as required via Aptem.
  • To support and adhere to internal and external quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • To support monthly sampling and moderation of the quality of delivery.
  • Maintain and reconcile invigilation records of all exams taken.
  • Maintain effective administration records that meet funding bodies/awarding bodies requirements.
  • Ensure timely achievements are met, including retention and achievement targets by implementing strategies and supporting learners in selfesteem and confidence building activities.
  • Include teaching and learning of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in line with the qualification they are completing and B-Skill policy and procedures relating to Equality and Diversity.
  • Include teaching and learning of Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values in line with the qualification they are completing and B-Skill policy and procedures relating to Safeguarding of learners.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of the learner throughout their period of learning.
  • Attend team, standardisation and 1:1 meetings.
  • Be available for OTL, IQA, EQA and Ofsted visits as required.
  • Complete CPD records appropriately and timely.
  • Ensure Traineeship Team Leader is notified of any learners at risk or any issues immediately and withdrawals are completed and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Be able to use and support learners using E-Portfolio.
  • Carry out all duties and work in accordance with the B-Skill quality improvement procedures and in the spirit of the B-Skill Values Statement.
  • Play an active part in the promotion and awareness of Safeguarding of learners across the business and externally as appropriate, and to help prevent acts of radicalisation and extremism.
  • Play an active part in promotion and awareness of Equality & Diversity across the business and externally as appropriate.
  • To undertake any other duties (training offered where applicable) in line with business need
  • The postholder will be required to undertake any such duty as commensurate with the status of this post.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills Required

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous experience delivering Essential Digital Skills from entry level to level
  • Previous experience delivering Functional Skills maths and English from entry level to level
  • Previous experience delivering Employability.
  • Experience of both classroom and remote delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted EIF requirements.
