    Description
    Maintenance Supervisor

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our maintenance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance work and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

    Job Requirements:

    Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Proficient in using various tools and equipment required for maintenance work.
    • Familiarity with mobile plant equipment is preferred.
    • Previous experience in the waste and recycling sector is beneficial.

    Leadership and Management:
    • Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff.
    • Excellent people skills with the capacity to nurture a productive and collaborative work environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating maintenance activities, including delegating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
    • Ability to monitor and evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary feedback and coaching.

    Communication and Collaboration:
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, management, and external suppliers.
    • Ability to foster open lines of communication and maintain good relationships with equipment manufacturers and other suppliers.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with the operational team to achieve operational targets and drive process improvement.

    Health and Safety Compliance:
    • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices related to maintenance work.
    • Experience in conducting risk assessments, creating work-based method statements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
    • Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of maintenance health and safety.

    Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and identifying defect trends.
    • Commitment to driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes, techniques, and equipment.
    • Innovative thinking and ability to implement positive changes effectively.

    Organisational Skills:
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records, monitoring departmental expenditure, and planning maintenance stock.
