Due to an exciting time of growth we are now looking for an
Accounts Assistant to join our team based in
Manchester.


As our Accounts Assistant, you will work alongside our Finance Manager & wider Finance team to ensure all aspects of the role are adhered to and that all data is recorded accurately to enable full reconciliation of invoices, payments, receipts, and balance sheet accounts for the UK area of the business.

As part of this role, you will perform invoicing and credit collection duties and accurately maintain the sales ledger.


No two days are the same, but on a typical day you will

  • Assist with journal posting & wider month end close process as required
  • Produce & post sales invoices accurately in a timely manner
  • Maintain client accounts with accounting software
  • Liaise with clients, wider finance team & internal departments to resolve queries
  • Assist wider finance team when required including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Banking & Treasury
  • Calculate margins per trip, track against budget and report at month end
  • Calculate sales commissions every month
  • Accurate recording of cost of sales into finance system
  • Cash management and payment processes, including cash forecasting
  • Take ownership of specific balance sheet reconciliations
  • Become a key point of contact within Inspiresport
  • Support the Finance Manager in all aspects of the role
  • Work on adhoc projects and improvements to finance processes
  • Maximise personal skills, knowledge, and experience to positively impact on performance and assist in meeting business goals
  • Adhere to the organisation's policy and procedures on information security and take whatever actions are required to safeguard data and assets
  • Have previous Accounts experience specifically within Accounts Receivable & Credit Collection
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail & workload management
  • Be computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight month end deadlines
  • Have the ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives
  • Have the ability to think logically, consider all relevant aspects and carry out basic analysis on information
  • Have working experience in supporting process improvements
  • Have experience writing formal documentation including process notes & procedures
  • Be qualified (or working towards) a level 4 AAT qualification or above
  • Knowledge of backoffice systems & experience in Unit4 Dream Financials would be highly advantageous
