Basic Requirements:

Animal care qualification and genuine interest in the care and welfare of animals
Understanding of ASPA (Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986)
Hands on experience with animals in essential.
Ability to maintain accurate records and have attention to detail in all work.
Proven ability work within a team.
Good communication skills
Ability to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the role, including the possibility of working at different locations and including some weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out daily feeding, watering, cleaning and general care of laboratory animals
Make observations, keep accurate records and input data into computer programmes
After training, undertake simple nonregulated and regulated procedures and techniques, including schedule
Contribute towards the general cleaning and upkeep of the facility and monitor and record environmental conditions in specific areas as required
Following SOP's and Health and Safety procedures.
Commit to the rota for weekend and bank holiday work
Assist with other duties and responsibilities as required at the direction of the Team Manager.
