Agenda have an exciting opportunity for a Licenced Animal Technician to join our growing team in Sandwich, Kent. We are looking for an experienced technician to contribute to research and maintain focus on exceptional animal welfare.Essential Requirements:
- Home Office Licence A-C
- Natural empathy towards animals and a passion for animal care and welfare
- Can work as part of a team and independently when required
- A good communicator
- A drive to progress and develop
Desirable requirements:
- Experience and knowledge of drug discovery research fields
- Competency in dosing routes and sample collection in multiple species
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide care and husbandry of research animals
- Take a handson role to support research groups with animal care.
- Performing regulated procedures, as per facility users requirements
- Keeping accurate records and inputting data onto computer systems.
- Communicating with researchers, experimental staff and facility team mates.
- Ensuring best standards of animal welfare and researchers' requirements are met.
- Cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the unit, working to a high standard of cleanliness and health and safety at all times.
- Accepting deliveries of consumables, samples and animals and completion of records
- Support weekend work, typically in a 1 in 3 rota.
- To assume NTCO responsibilities as defined within LASA's Guding Principles for Names Pesrsons and any amendment or additions to such.
- To attend and report to the Ethics Committee when required.
